Check before you pay. Inspect before you ship.
Three free tools that make a fake seller show their hand: a Letter of Authority to send an inspector, a clause for your ICPO or SPA, and what to do if access is refused.
1. Letter of Authority (LOA)
A template the buyer signs, appointing Vanguard Verify and its field officer to inspect the seller's plant, warehouse and stock on your behalf. Fields: buyer company, signatory, seller, plant address, product, officer name and ID, validity date.
2. Inspection clause for your ICPO / SPA
Paste this into your ICPO or contract before you sign.
3. "Access refused"
A genuine seller lets the buyer's inspector in. If access is refused, treat the deal as high risk.
Excuses we hear: "the plant is closed for audit", "only after the deposit", "our mandate cannot allow visits", "the stock is in a bonded warehouse you cannot enter". Every one of these is a reason to stop before you pay.
Templates are provided free as a starting point and are not legal advice. Adapt them to your contract and the law that applies to it.
